Race #4 -- Spain

Postby Waldorf » Tue May 15, 2007 9:01 pm

Last 2 races I have gone to put my bids in just before friday practise had started (like maybe 2 hrs)only to find it say already expired. So I sent my bids by PM to Farz but they're still in my outbox :( meaning he hasn't seen them yet.

Why do a few people do this so often? The deadline for each race is shown on the picks page, and there is a whole page with deadlines for every race, which you can see in your own time zone. The deadline is not always the start of practice -- when Farzad sets the deadlines, he is a bit conservative to make sure that differences in Daylight Savings time never result in a deadline after practice has started.

Maybe make your picks for China now, instead of waiting until the deadline has passed and complaining to Farzad. If something important happens just before free practice to make you want to change your picks, then you can do so. But why set yourself up for a zero?

A) I got used to doing my picks when I got the reminder email - which I haven't received for the last 2 races.
B) I have real life deadlines that tend to occupy my mind more than deadlines for games (I'm not Jeremy  )

I didn't complain to Farzad I merely submitted my picks. The reason for this post was that he hasn't replied to (or even read) my messages to him.
Can't say I realised the deadline wasn't the start of practise - well I know now I guess.

The Top 10 heading for the final race of 2007:

605 -- todzilla220

588 -- bicyclejoe
580 -- nickj
578 -- farzad
574 -- wick
574 -- saakey
573 -- arncreddy296
571 -- jenny

todzilla220 is looking good for the overall win; fidel must be praying for rain...

The 2007 GridBids finale

Postby Waldorf » Fri Oct 19, 2007 8:13 am

http://www.gridbids.com/vennpicks.php?player1=31&player2=714&player3=562&race=17

Going into the last race, todzilla220 has a good lead (for a dry race), with fidel 10 points down and tisoy & bicyclejoe 17 points back.

Image

-- fidel has chosen conservatively, and will need Rosberg to outscore (Webber + Fisichella) by 10 points if he is to catch todzilla.

-- tisoy has gone for broke, with (Kimi + Rosberg + Kubica + Vettel) versus todzilla's (Alonso + Hamilton + Webber + Trulli + Ralf), which is unlikely to net him 17 points unless the two McLarens take each other out.

-- bicyclejoe needs (Heidfeld + Kubica) to outscore Massa by 17, which is also unlikely.

Unofficial results
