GPL still rocks my socks whenever I boot it up (which, frankly, isn't often enough). I think the 65's would provide the best racing, as they're not *that* hard to drive - although after the season in which we used them there were some complaints that as soon as you get behind, it's virtually impossible to make up the lost ground. On the other hand, slipstreaming is possible with them.
Some time ago an update to GPL65 was released - I'm not exactly sure what the update entails, but I seem to remember that the online code and collision detection had been improved.
GPL66 would also be a very good option too, as there are so many different makes and engine manufacturers to choose from. These choices can be pretty tactical, as the lighter cars with smaller engines (2.0-2.5L) are sometimes faster at twisty tracks than the heavier, full-blown 3.0L cars. The Ferrari 312 blows everything and everyone into the weeds though, whether it be Monaco or Monza.
That being said, I can't be sure I'll be able to compete once FMBL ever gets off the ground again. For one thing, next week I'll be gone for two months on a big trip with my girlfriend to Santiago de Compostela, and afterwards it'll be a busy time with a holiday to France with some friends and the preparations to move to Liverpool for my master's degree
