Q. Have you made all these video and sound clips yourself? [Top]
A. No. This site has been around for over 6 years and in the beginning I would post video clips and sound files which I had collected from around the Internet. I still do that but recently I have had people send me files which they had either found or edited themselves. I am and will always be indebted to the following people and sites. If I missed anyone I apologise. If you send me anything I will always try to give credit when the movie or sound is posted.
Q. Can you update the site more often? [Top]
A. I know it seems like an eternity between updates but sometimes I have nothing to update because I don't have footage from the most recent race or I just haven't had time. Remember I don't create these files myself so I can't always be up to date and quick with the updates. Just be patient and I will update soon. A great way to find out about changes to the site is to join my mailing list. Go to the main page and sign up there.
Q. I sent you e-mail a long time ago, why haven't you answered yet? [Top]
A. To be honest, I'm just plain lazy. I currently have 107 messages in my inbox and 95 of those are unread! I only get a few messages a week but I keep putting it off until there are too many to answer. Anyway, I eventually respond to all e-mails sent to me. If your e-mail was of an urgent nature then I probably responded right away. If you report a broken link, I'll fix it right away, keep 'em coming. Being lazy is one reason I wanted to put together this FAQ, take a look at this page, you might find the answer to your question before you e-mail me. This isn't to say I don't want visitors to the Gallery to e-mail me, by all means drop me a line to say hello or anything else, but now you know why I might not respond right away.
Q. Will you ever sell my e-mail address or send me junk mail if I join your mailing list? [Top]
A. Never. I will only send e-mail regarding updates and news about this site. I will never give away or share the mailing list. Trust me, I hate spam.
Q. What's the music in that video clip? [Top]
A. I get asked this question a lot. Many of the highlight and tribute clips use some pretty cool music, here is a list of the music used in the clips. This list includes all the music I recognise, so if you know the music in a video clip I'm missing below drop me a line

Q. Do you have a clip of ... [Top]
A. Sometimes I get requests for a particular video clip or sound-bite. Keep in mind I don't create
these files so most of the time I can not fill requests but it's still worth dropping me an
e-mail because I have a few clips (not many mind you) which I have not posted or I know someone who might be able to help you out.
Q. Do you have the ..... race on video tape? [Top]
A. Much like the question above, I get requests for particular races on video tape. I don't actually have an archive of races on tape. That's one of the reasons I like doing this site. I can have all the important bits from all the races in years gone by, right on my computer.
Q. Can I use your files on my website? [Top]
A. Yes you can, but please doanload and store the files on your own server. DO NOT link to the files directly on my server. I can't affort the extra bandwisth so be nice and use your own server. If you put a link to my site then let me know I'll link back to your site.
Q. I'm having trouble viewing the movies, what can I do? [Top]
A. I'm assuming you have been able to download the file and only have trouble viewing the contents. That's to say your problem is not due to a broken link. If you can't see the video or hear the audio the first thing to consider is whether you have the latest version of the viewer you are using. The piece of software which is used by all viewers to play a multimedia file is called the codec and it's very important that you always have the latest version. So visit the following sites to download the latest version of their software and hopefully it'll solve your problem. Follow the instructions supplied by the manufacturer to install the software. I'm afraid I can't help you install and troubleshoot installing and using this type of software.
Q. Why did you start this site? [Top]
A. When the World Wide Web was gaining popularity back in 1994 I remember the first thing I tried to find was any and all information about Formula One racing. I found the obligatory sites with stats and information about drivers and circuits but no multimedia content. I was hungry for pictures, sound bites or video. I found a few clips here and there and saved everything I found. Then one day I was talking to a friend in another city and we were arguing about something. I knew I was right and I had it on a video clip. He said he wanted to see it so I thought instead of emalling it to him I would set up a web site and let him view it online. Besides I wanted to learn HTML and I couldn't think of a better reason so Farzad's F1 Gallery was born. The name was temporary (Farzad is my first name) until I could thinking of something better, I'm still thinking. Since then I have been obsessed with collecting F1 movies and sound files. There is no better way to capture the history of this great sport and I hope everyone who visits this site can benefit from it by learning about F1 history and all it's great moments. Since the early days I have met some great people online and made some long lasting friendships. In a short time the best part of maintaining this site became the people I got to know as result of it.
